Expectations

Honor Code
 

Any type of Honor Code violation, including plagiarism, submitting a bogus assignment or a blank document as a placeholder, will be given a permanent zero (per the Honor Code consequences detailed below) until a discussion and resolution concerning the incident occurs. This will be noted in the student’s Discipline Data View and will be a permanent part of their Connections academic record.

  • FIRST OFFENSE: A ZERO on the assignment until you have a conference with Ms. Shimmin and redo the assignment. 

  • SECOND OFFENSE:  A ZERO on the assignment until you have a conference with Ms. Shimmin and your Learning Coach.  You will need to redo the assignment. 

  • THIRD OFFENSE: Direct referral to admin. for discipline.  You will receive a PERMANENT ZERO.

Live Lesson Attendance

Make-up Procedures

If you are absent for Live Lesson do the following: ​

  1. Watch the recording and complete the Nearpod or activity listed on the recordings page. ​

  2. Webmail Ms. Shimmin and let her know that you have completed the absent work.  Be sure to include the date you were absent. 

Student Expectations

  • Keep up with your lessons to avoid getting temporary zeros.  Refer to the Pacing Guide often to see what lessons you should be on. 

  • Read your Webmail daily!  You don't want to miss important announcements.

  • Attend Live Lessons!  If you miss a Live Lesson you are expected to watch the recording and complete the Nearpod/Starter Activity/Exit Ticket.

  • If you are unhappy with your grade or an assignment score let me know!  I am happy to work with you 1-1 at INO (in and out) or by appointment.  Click here for more information!

Teacher Expectations

  • All work will be graded within 3-5 school days.

  • I will answer all WebMail, text, and voicemail within 24 business hours. 

  • Resources are available and designed to meet specific student needs. Please let me know if something is missing that may help you learn more easily.

  • All requests for help and support will be met. 

Live Lesson Expectations

  • The whole class Live Lesson for this course is held every M-W at 10:00 a.m.  They are required. 

  • The following expectations are expected when participating in Live Lesson: ​

    • Come dressed for school. ​

    • Have a quiet and organized workspace. 

    • Mute on unless you are speaking. Use reactions (hand raise, question, etc.) before coming off mic.

    • Stay fully engaged by completing ALL activities. â€‹
